Fall  Colors

We time many of our trips for the peak of fall colors.  Sheryl & I have made trips to the North Shore of Lake Superior and in our other travels we have often photographed the fall change.  Most of the trips that Gary & I take are specifically timed for fall colors:  Yellowstone or Southwest Colorado in late September, the UP and Utah the first week of October.

We are fortunate to live in a prime area for fall color:

Otter Tail County Minnesota.  Our county is approximately 3/4 hardwood forests, primarily maple but some ash, basswood and pople.  We have two state parks, Maplewood and Glendalough that offer prime colors, as well as county parks and simply driving many of the county roads.  It is not unusual for Sheryl and I to start after work and drive until dark, enjoying the fall colors with some photo stops.  Some years we make a specific point to spend a long weekend on the North Shore timed to peak color.

Southwest Colorado offers a variety of photo opportunity:  summer flowers, the yellow of fall aspens, mountain streams, historic buildings, deserts, sand dunes, mountain snows and much more.

At iDocs we have CD photo guides to Southwest Colorado based in Ouray and for Rocky Mountain National Park.   Of course I have several more photos in my Shutterfly albums.
