Photography Background

I have been involved in outdoor photography for over 3 decades.  Over the past 15 years my friend Gary Renier and I have been taking yearly trips to photograph various natural areas in the Amerian West and Midwest.  We have been to Yellowstone, Zion, Arches and other national parks.  We have done fall color shoots in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan and around Ouray, Colorado.  We have backpacked in the Beartooth Mountains and canoed in the Boundary Waters.  Our favorite place is Utah, particularly the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

My wife, Sheryl, and I enjoy traveling, which gives me further opportunities for photography.  We have been to most of the northern US.   Sheryl & I frequently travel to Florida and Alaska to visit our sons and their families.  These trips provide wonderful opportunities to capture amazing photos of the local scenery---as well as our grandchildren!

I have several albums, each for a different location or topic.  Please feel free to view each album, each location and each topic to find a photograph, or several, that speaks to you.

My photography business is really a side-line.  I am an optometrist by profession and still practice in our home town of Fergus Falls, Minnesota.  Fortunately I have two able and tolerant partners that allow me to pursue my interest.
