Buildings, Sheds etc.---Various Locations Sheryl is a huge antique fan. Much of the antique world escapes my interest, but I do find some fascination with wood. Therefore I take photos of old buildings, fences, sheds and so forth. I also include some closeups of detail in these structures. This shed is on the shore of Lake Superior, the North Shore of Minnesota. Sheryl & I drive by here on nearly every trip to our favorite camping spot, further up the shore. This photo was shot in November, winter was well established and the shed owner had decorated for Christmas. Just North of Sioux City, Iowa is the Adams Homestead and Nature Area. The land was homesteaded by the Adams family over a century ago; the two surviving granddaughters donated the land to the state of South Dakota. There are several period buildings on the property as well as some nice hiking-biking trails with quite a bit of wildlife. This hinge is on a log cabin on this property. This small, octogon building is in West Central Minnesota. It is likely a town hall, but I am not really sure of it's current use. It appears to have been a one room school at one time. |
